Not quite the kind of book I have expected and not what the cover seemed to promise, but not bad at all.Liam Day takes a giant leap when he leaves his home and travels to a university far away and does that on his own. He is placed in the Alpha house without even having to compete as all other candidates, just because of some mysterious legacy.
He shares room with Tyler whom he starts to count as a friend. That is something he never had lot of in the past. The older students, and especially their leader Cyrus, are more dismissive.
But everything is not as it seems in this house. Why do those older students go out into the woods in the middle of the night? Is it only because of the illicit sex affair between Blaise and James? And who has broken into Cyrus' room while he and Liam were out watching the sunset?
I don't do spoilers, so you have to read it yourself (wink).
But this is obviously the first book in a series, so there are not all answers in this one - and the relationship between Liam and Cyrus is just in the starting block.

I actually really enjoy fantasy erotica. This book has really raised the bar for what I expect from these kind of stories. This book is a great set up for what I know is going to be an awesome series!
As it is the first in this series, it leaves a lot of holes in the story. Hopefully as it goes on that will change.
Whenever I have a lot of notes/highlights in a story, it's usually not a good thing. There were WAY too many editing issues for a book that isn't even 100 pages. Typos/misspellings, missing words, and just simple mistakes that should not have been missed. There were also things that just didn't make sense or seem to fit, based on the numerous shifter stories & series I've read before. I know all writers aren't going to be the same, but most of them generally stick to certain "facts" when it comes to shifter fiction. 1) Cyrus says he always knows where each and every person in his pack is without them even telling him. Why, is he psychic? Sure, alphas are connected to their mates, sometimes being able to speak to each other psychically, but I've never heard of an alpha that was psychically connected to his entire pack. 2) when Cyrus was telling Liam the story of Thomas Foalin (and why was he telling the story as if he were a book narrator? That was annoying) he said that Thomas was attacked, bitten and changed by an omega, and that's how he became an alpha. Omegas are almost always quiet, shy, timid, non-aggressive, peacemakers who are less strong compared to their counterparts and therefore rarely allowed to travel alone. 3) Cyrus says that alpha leaders are not allowed to love. What? 4) Cyrus says one of their weaknesses is a silver alloy called aconite. I Googled this and found no less than 10 web sites - including a strange one about werewolves - that said aconite is a plant, not a metal. 5) In Cyrus' car, Liam grabbed the handlebar. Is It a car or a tandem bike? 6) Cyrus says that when someone leaves the fraternity, the pack takes away their ability to shift & they're no longer a wolf. Say what now? That's a heckuva powerful pack. 7) During sex Liam is described as Cyrus' mate. Even though alphas can't love? 8) After sex Cyrus "reached for Liam like his cub". Wolves have pups, bears have cubs. 9) When Liam asked about Cyrus relationship with Gunner, he said Gunner resented him since he became alpha leader 2 years prior. Earlier in the book he said it had only been a year. 10) During the same conversation, Cyrus says "Cyrus was a junior at the time, but he's changed his major so I expect to see him with us another year." Was he speaking of himself in the 3rd person or was he supposed to be talking about Gunner?
Combine all of this with little to no character development, minimal world building, choppy writing style, lackluster sex scenes, a weak and naïve fainting flower for an MC, and a pack where everyone except Liam spends more time being angry & jumping to conclusions than they do anything else, and you'd be better off reading this Unlimited.
