As a sequel, Breathe! did not disappoint. In fact, I felt it exceeded its predecessor. The writing is faster-paced and kept me even more absorbed than I was during the first book, which is saying something. The protagonist becomes less sympathetic as he is faced with having to make a choice between lying to the woman he loves or telling her the truth. As he contemplates the future of his mortal soul, he recalls a quote from St. Thomas Aquinas on sin. He might do well to also consider his law school studies of the oft-quoted Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr., who stated: "Sin has many tools, but a lie is the handle which fits them all." Loved it! Could not put it down. The author has a way of pulling you into the characters and the story line is riveting. Can't wait to see what adventures Jack Martin will have next. Will he be lured into the "family" business for good? I eagerly await!
I purchased Lawyers Lies and Lipstick at a book fair in Florida. I was so impressed that I searched for the author's name and found that the continuation had finally been released! Well, with so much anticipation for Breathe! I was happily surprised that it was not only as great as the first, but it was even better! The characters and settings are so perfectly woven, and the story is expertly delivered as the adventures of Jack Martin continue. I will be keeping an eye out for more from Charles Emma! Please, keep them coming!!! Better yet, get started on the Jack Martin movie!!!

This was sequel to his first book which I enjoyed immensely. As I am originally fom New England I could identify with a lot of the locals.. Looking forward to his next one.
I loved Emma's first book, and the sequel did not disappoint. The character development is great, and the story keeps you reading. I finished the book in only two sittings as I did not want to put it down.
I found Breathe almost as great as lawyers lies and lipstick. The main character is interesting. I liked the twists on the plot. Once again the author Mr. Emma did a great job . I m looking forward to next book.
