I have just read the initial 4 volumes in the Wings of Steele series for the second time, and it was even better than the first time. With really good books, I find nuances and details that I missed or ignored prior.The storyline is exciting and varied, there is action, fighting, romance, mysticism(I would call belief or faith), as well interstellar space flight, battles in space, corrupt and evil politicians as well as others. It all happens to and around Jack Steele, ex-cop turned aircraft pilot who pulls a repeat performance of Flight 99 in an area adjacent to the Bermuda Triangle.......and that's just the beginning, and after a running gun battle.
The first 4 books are great, Jeff Burger may not be extremely well known yet, but he will be! I would strongly this series to anyone interested in action science fiction and a few other home truths as well. Mr. Burger, I'm still waiting for the fifth volume.

This book reached out further in telling the story not just of Steele, but more of the Steele universe.
The book gives me other characters to ponder and worry over. That what a good book should do.
I love this series and have been waiting for this book since the I burned through the 3rd book in one day. I have read the other books multiple times and this book will be no exception. I will admit he through me for a loop with this one though and makes me want the 5th book now so I can see how things play out. If you love science fiction then give this series a try.
The author has come through with another good read. I find his use of the Masons in the story line very interesting. Our hero has his usual different problems but that is what keeps the book flowing. I am waiting for the next one.
I love these books. I always re-read the previous books so I am up to date on the story line because each one expands on the story. I went from worry, that Steele was turning into a Vorlack, to relief that he was still going to be his "lets tear them up self". Already looking for the fifth book in the series If you like Science Fiction this is a Must Read....Jeff, write faster. Check out Jeff's web page, lot of stuff going on there.
The twist of Jack towards the end floored me. I'm glad he did not "die" like I thought he did. The part of the story with the queen and "prince" & the princes friend needed to have more depth to it. Anyone who likes the first book will like this just as well.This is a great series.
This is an excellent book in the series. There are great subplots going hints by Voorlak. Intertwining stories, new characters, subtle shifts, all combine to make this a fun read.
I am eagerly awaiting the audible version to to be released so that i may add it to the the other three in my collection.
Needless to say I am looking forward to book number five.
Yesterday, I finished reading this, and last night and today, I feel lost and friendless. I can't find another book to read that makes me feel at home, and that I enjoy as much as this series.
This may become one of those series that I miss so much when I'm done with it that I just can't do anything but go back to the beginning and read the whole thing again.
